Developing a Sustainable Farming Hub

DNC is developing a modern farming hub designed to evolve into a large-scale, climate-resilient model. Our site integrates renewable energy, water-efficient irrigation, and sustainable land practices. This hub will serve as the foundation for a cooperative system that empowers rural families, enhances food security, and supports long-term environmental resilience.

Pioneering Crop-Backed Microfinance

DNC’s crop-based finance system helps farmers access seeds, tools, and training without upfront costs. Farmers repay through their harvests, creating a fair and circular economy. This model supports financial inclusion, strengthens food systems, and aligns with global goals for poverty reduction and sustainable rural livelihoods.

Building a Cooperative and Innovation Network

We are developing an integrated cooperative and innovation hub that connects farmers to markets, technology, and solar-powered infrastructure. This hub will create jobs, strengthen rural value chains, and promote shared ownership. Our vision is a self-sustaining ecosystem where communities thrive through modern, inclusive, and climate-resilient agriculture.

We are at the beginning of that journey. What started as a small farming project in Eastern Province, Zambia, is growing into a broader effort to create jobs, empower farmers, and build systems that turn local potential into lasting prosperity.

This work is deeply personal to us. Our founders, Mweemba Ntembe, Regina Daka, and Barbara Kalungwana, all share family roots in this region. The land, the people, and the challenges here have shaped who we are and why we began this journey. DNC was born from that connection and our shared commitment to give back by building opportunity where it matters most.

Our goal is simple but ambitious. We are building a farming hub that connects modern agriculture, crop-backed finance, and community development. Step by step, we are creating a model that gives rural families access to the tools, training, and opportunities they need to grow and thrive.

2024

Launch of DNC and Crop-Backed Finance Model

Launch of DNC and Crop-Backed Finance Model
DNC officially began operations in 2024 with the introduction of a crop-backed finance system designed to support local farmers during the most difficult time of the year. We provided cash directly to farmers when their income was low, allowing them to buy food and seeds for the next season. In return, we purchased their maize and sold it to the Food Reserve Agency. This approach brought relief to struggling families, created steady income, and proved that inclusive, community-driven finance can be both sustainable and profitable.

2025

Establishing the First Commercial Farm

After the success of our crop-backed finance initiative, DNC is now building its first commercial farm in Eastern Province. The farm will strengthen our supply base, expand cash-finance operations, and introduce structured employment for youth and women. This site will also serve as a testing ground for solar irrigation and training programs that prepare for the creation of our larger farming hub.
